Cookie policy

This policy describes cookies and similar storage on LoanCalc Lab (loancalclab.net). The site is owned and run by Rodway Labs. A cookie is a small file a site or another company can store on your device. We also use local storage in the browser, which is not a cookie but works in a similar way for remembering a choice. You can read how this fits the wider notice in the privacy policy.

The choice you are offered

On your first visit to any page, a consent window (“LoanCalc Lab asks for your consent to use your personal data”) asks for your choice. It lists the purposes we actually use, and each one can be expanded to read what it means. Closing it with Esc does not count as consent, and until you choose, advertising does not start.

• Consent turns advertising on and loads Google AdSense on pages that carry ad slots. Advertising cookies can be set from that point, as described below.
• Manage options shows an Advertising switch, which is off until you turn it on. Save choices keeps what you set. Do not consent keeps advertising off, so AdSense is not loaded and no advert is requested.

You don’t need to consent to use the calculators, and your choices apply to loancalclab.net only. Guides, calculators and results work the same whatever you choose. Legal pages, the glossary, about, contact and brand pages never load AdSense, even after Consent.

How to change your choice

Use Privacy preferences in the footer of any page to reopen the window and change your choice. If you switch advertising off after accepting, the page reloads without the AdSense script, and later pages do not load it. You can also clear this site’s stored data for loancalclab.net in your browser; the window then appears again on your next visit. Google’s advertising cookies already set can be deleted in your browser settings.

• Strictly necessary. The host and Cloudflare may set cookies or similar storage needed for security, load balancing, and abuse prevention. The site can fail open or break if a browser blocks every cookie, including those. These are not used to build an advertising profile for us.
• Analytics. None. We do not run Google Analytics, Cloudflare Web Analytics, or any other analytics or page-view tracking on this site.
• Advertising (optional). Only after Consent, or with Advertising switched on under Manage options, Google AdSense and its partners may set advertising cookies to serve and measure ads, including ads tailored to sites you have visited, where their own settings allow that. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites. None of those advertising cookies are set before you accept advertising.
• Consent storage (essential, always on). Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage for loancalclab.net under the key lcl-consent. It holds whether advertising is on or off, a version number and the date you chose. We ask again after 12 months, or sooner if you clear site data. An older key, lcl-ads-consent, used by our previous banner, is read once: an earlier Accept becomes advertising on and an earlier Reject becomes advertising off, and the old key is then removed. The choice is not sent to us and never contains the figures you type into a calculator.

Other ways to limit advertising

You can also opt out of personalised Google ads at adssettings.google.com, use your browser to block or delete cookies, or read industry opt-out tools at aboutads.info. Read how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. If you have already accepted and then block advertising cookies, some adverts may still load but are usually less relevant. Blocking cookies is not the same as leaving advertising off, which stops the script loading at all. See the advertising disclosure for where slots are allowed to appear.

Preview addresses and hosts that are not loancalclab.net do not show this window and do not load the live AdSense script. The policy you are reading describes the public site only.
