Privacy policy

LoanCalc Lab is published by Rodway Labs. Rodway Labs is the trading name of an independent UK publisher. The site is informational and funded only by display advertising from Google AdSense, with no affiliate links or commissions. It is not a lender, broker or regulated financial adviser.

This notice explains how LoanCalc Lab at loancalclab.net handles personal information. The site is owned and run by Rodway Labs (“we”), which is responsible for it. We do not publish a postal address or a company registration number here. Contact hello@loancalclab.net. This notice is written for visitors in the United Kingdom.

What we process

• Calculator inputs. Amounts, rates, terms, and fees are processed in your browser to produce an illustration. We do not receive those figures on an application server, and we do not build a profile of your loans.
• Emails you choose to send. If you write to hello@loancalclab.net, we use the address and the message to read and reply. There is no contact form and no newsletter signup. Please do not send account numbers or identity documents.
• Hosting and security logs. Cloudflare and the host may process IP address, user agent, timestamps, and the URL requested, so the site can be delivered and abused traffic can be limited. We do not run any analytics: no Google Analytics and no Cloudflare Web Analytics.
• Advertising, only after you accept it. If you choose Consent in the consent window, or switch Advertising on under Manage options, Google and other advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including ads based on earlier visits to this site or other sites. If you reject, leave Advertising off, or have not chosen, the advertising script is not loaded and those partners are not asked to show an advert.
• Your consent choice. Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage for loancalclab.net (key lcl-consent; an older lcl-ads-consent key from our previous banner is converted and removed) so we do not ask on every page. It holds advertising on or off and the date, and no calculator figures. To change it, use Privacy preferences in the footer of any page. See the cookie policy.

What we do not do

We do not run user accounts, we do not sell mailing lists, and we do not take loan applications. We do not ask you to create a profile. There are no live affiliate offers passing your details to a lender. The site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect children’s data. Calculator pages can be used without telling us who you are.

Why we use the information (UK GDPR)

We rely on legitimate interests to publish the site, keep it secure, and reply to messages you send us. Those interests are running a free informational calculator site, not assessing creditworthiness. Where UK and EEA rules require consent for non-essential advertising cookies, we rely on the choice you make in the consent window. You can refuse that consent and still use the calculators. We do not use consent for advertising as a condition of reading a guide. You do not need to consent to use the calculators, and your choice applies to this site only.

Who else processes it

Cloudflare processes traffic on our behalf to host and protect the site. If you accept advertising, Google acts as a separate controller for AdSense in line with its own policies. We do not control Google’s later use of advertising data. Read how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. You can manage personalised Google ads at adssettings.google.com. Hosting and advertising providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they are expected to use a lawful transfer mechanism such as the UK extension to an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses. In plain terms, and only after you accept advertising:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites.
• Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info or, in the UK and Europe, www.youronlinechoices.eu.

How long we keep it

We do not operate a customer database of calculator users. An email you send is kept long enough to handle the question and any follow-up, then deleted when it is no longer needed. Hosting logs follow the host’s security retention, which we do not republish as a fixed number of days because we do not run that log store ourselves. The consent choice stays in your browser for up to 12 months, or until you clear site data or change it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, or restrict personal data we hold, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time with Privacy preferences in the footer. Withdrawing advertising consent does not affect calculators you have already used. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. To exercise a right, email hello@loancalclab.net and describe the request. We may need to confirm that an email thread is yours before we act on it. We do not use this address to offer credit.
